How does Givey work?
Givey allows you to make instant donations to charity through social media and SMS, by linking your PayPal account with your Givey account.
When you tweet or text to donate, our technology instantly knows who you are, and can deduct the chosen donation amount and immediately send it to the charity you have given to, without you even needing to log-in to PayPal.
How do I make a donation?
To donate, you must sign up with Givey. Please see our homepage for more information on how to donate. In a nutshell: find a participating charity you would like to donate to, look for their SMS short-code or Twitter name, and then make a donation using the Givey format. For example, to give £1 to British Red Cross (with a supportive message!):
Tweet: #Givey @britishredcross 1 Please join me in donating to a great cause
Text: Givey BRC 1 to 88008
Users must be registered with Givey to make a donation, and please make sure you have used the correct Twitter Name or SMS code by visiting the Participating Charities search page.
What about Gift-Aid?
When you sign up for a Givey account, you can make an declaration that, as a UK Tax Payer, all future donations are eligible for Gift-Aid. This declaration ensures that every Givey donation you make will be Gift-Aided!
Is there a fee?
5% of your donation will be deducted before it reaches your chosen charity. 1.25% of this fee is distributed to Givey, and 3.75% is distributed to our partner, MissionFish, who deliver the donations and Gift-Aid to our charities. There are no set-up or ongoing costs for users or for charities.
See our
Fees page for more information.
I haven't got PayPal, can I still use Givey?
Unfortunately, our technology only allows for donations through PayPal currently. Signing up to PayPal is quick and easy, you simply need to ensure you have a Credit or Debit card linked to your PayPal account.
The charity I want to donate to isn't on Givey, can I invite them?
Please do! All charities who are registered with MissionFish (which is over 5,000 UK Charities) can register with Givey. Please email
enquiries@givey.co.uk with details of the charity you wish to invite, and our team will contact them. Alternatively, they can sign up straight away by visiting our Charities page.
I've seen 'Cubate Ltd' written on the website and PayPal, who are they?
Cubate Ltd is Givey's parent company. Cubate provides mobile websites and mobile commerce solutions for businesses. For more information see
www.cubate.com.
What do you mean by 'Giving Identity' and 'Giving Journey'?
By signing up with Givey, you have access to your Givey account. This provides you with your full donation history, allowing you to track who you gave to, when and how much. Your Givey account saves your information, and your active link with PayPal, ensuring you are always mobilized to make gift-aided donations, wherever you are.

Donations will usually be sent to you within one month. For example, donations made in May will arrive with you through BACS payment by 30th June.
